Audio Engineering/Bicycle Delivery
Pioneer in the "Teknetos Illiteratus" style of guitar playing. The philosophy behind "Teknetos Illiteratus" insists that the only people who should be allowed to play guitar are those who don't know how to play the guitar, as the world has too many white male guitarists already. Live performances have been known to incite riots and topple small governments.

Americorps' Environmental Corps
I like to kill trees. I like zines and comics. One time in Tokyo I lived in a box for a day. Deep down, I want to be a farmer.
I would like to pay off my student loans one day.

what is Ken? is it some kind of creature? or is it some kind of thumping, humping dancing machine? with the most advanced, ecologically conscious engine available, it runs off of 100% straight unrefined vegetable and gets 60 kilothrusts per litre.
Get PhD, generate fusion power, create magnum opus, end war and hunger, eliminate waste, and go to bed early (but not to sleep).

Vegetarian Cheese Lover
American Studies and RTF, Intern at Austin Film Society
My simple pleasures include:  reading Howard Zinn and dystopian novels, rolling cigarettes, radical feminism, drinking copious amounts of coffee, yerba mate and red wine, laughing, traveling, The Simpsons, attempting to speak languages I've never actually studied, riding my bicycle (especially while listening to Queen's "Bicycle"), and practicing yoga.
My ultimate dream is to make social issue and educational documentaries for PBS.

the most amazing experience of my life is when i met Komola Mondol, a Bengali woman who lives outside of Kolkata, India. She has been suffering from arsenicosis (arsenic poisoning) for many years and clearly wears the signs this disease. Regardless, she is one of the most delightful women I have ever met. Although she lives in a mud/straw shack with her husband and they barely get by (i.e., food and medication to ease her pain), she freely offered all of her money up to help her neighbor. This is what motivates me.

Plantnerd/Garden Center Laborer
I dropped out of college after a year and a half of griping about it. Then I joined Americorps*NCCC, built some houses with Katrina and Rita survivors, and fell in love with the SOUTH and SUNSHINE and manual labor. Then I joined the Student Conservation Association in Big Bend National Park and fell in love with PLANTS and NATURE and TEXAS. Then I moved to Austin, the land of all my hopes and dreams.
Owning a little bit of land, growing a successful tomato garden, going back to school, doing 10 pull-ups, getting over my fear of heights & needles, learning the piano so I can start a Hanson tribute band, traveling abroad (India May '09!!!), having the best year of my life every year.

I spend my days writing code for Linux. When I'm not doing that, reading, or messing with the house network, I like to work at the CSA farm and generally learn about sustainable living.
